Project Description

The project consists of the construction of piped sewer networks, including manholes, house connections, junction boxes, and pumping stations, serving the areas of Barouk, Fraidis, Ain Zhalta, Nabaa Es Safa, Azzounieh, and Ain Dara. The project was commissioned by the Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR) and was mainly financed by the Islamic Development Bank.

The project cost amounted to approximately USD 11,582,268.65 after variation. Construction commenced in 2011 and was completed in 2018.

The works include the construction of sewer networks within a variety of site conditions, including paved roads, unpaved roads, alleys, dry riverbeds, and wet riverbeds. The wastewater networks extend across the following areas:

• Ain Dara: 9,150 m

• Azzounieh: 6,630 m

• Mechkiti: 2,560 m

• Nabaa Es Safa: 2,000 m

• Ain Zhalta: 12,100 m

• Barouk: 16,640 m

In addition to the sewer networks, the project includes the construction of three pumping stations, located in Ain Dara, Azzounieh, and Mechkiti.

The technical scope includes excavation works reaching depths of approximately 7 m, with sewer pipe diameters ranging from Φ200 mm to Φ400 mm.

The project provides an integrated wastewater collection system combining extensive sewer networks, associated network structures, and pumping infrastructure to serve the designated areas under varying urban and natural site conditions.
