Project Description

The project covers the rehabilitation, upgrading, extension, and construction of water supply systems serving various villages within the Caza of Batroun, North Lebanon.

The project was commissioned by the Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR) and financed by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development. Construction commenced in 2009 and was completed in 2012, with a total project cost of USD 5,700,791.51.

The scope of works includes the extension and improvement of the water distribution and transmission infrastructure, comprising:

• Water Distribution Network: Extension of the distribution network, including branches serving residential properties along approximately 3 km of the seaside.

• Transmission and Distribution Pipelines: Construction and extension of transmission and distribution pipelines.

• Borehole: Construction and equipping of one borehole.

• Pumping Station: Construction and installation of a pumping station and its associated equipment.

• Water Tanks: Construction of circular water storage tanks.

• Transmission Lines: Installation of new transmission lines.

• Distribution Lines: Installation of new water distribution lines.

The project provides an integrated water supply infrastructure combining transmission, storage, pumping, and distribution systems, with the objective of improving and extending water services across the designated villages and residential areas.
