Project Description

The construction of Beirut School No. 06, located on Lot 653 in Ras Beirut, was commissioned by the Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR), representing the Lebanese Government and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and was financed by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.

The project, serving pre-elementary, elementary, and intermediate school levels, is situated on a site extending over approximately 2,550 m². The development has a total construction surface area of approximately 12,000 m², with a total project cost of USD 4,545,987. Construction commenced in 2007 and was completed in 2009.

The project consists of a multistory building comprising two underground levels covering the entire lot area, in addition to seven upper floors, each with an approximate surface area of 960 m².

The building accommodates a comprehensive educational program, including:

• Administrative offices and facilities

• Classrooms

• Laboratories

• Workshops

• Computer and music rooms

• Library

• Teachers' and supervisors' rooms

• Covered playground

• Technical rooms

• Storage facilities

• Canteen

• Alumni room

• Archive

• Transformer, generator, and boiler rooms

The project is further complemented by outdoor playgrounds, landscaped gardens, and a parking area, providing the school with the necessary recreational, communal, and service facilities.

The compact vertical organization responds to the site's constrained urban footprint, allowing the project to accommodate a comprehensive educational program while maintaining dedicated spaces for recreation, landscaping, and essential services.
