Project Description

The project consists of the construction of a new drinking water distribution network and sewerage system serving the region extending between Ehden and Zgharta, North Lebanon. The project was commissioned by the Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR) and was mainly financed by the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD).

The project cost amounted to approximately USD 15,312,269.49. Construction commenced in 2010.

The scope of works includes the development of a comprehensive drinking water supply and wastewater collection infrastructure, comprising:

• Drinking Water Network: Construction of drinking water pipelines and distribution lines.

• Water Reservoirs: Construction of five drinking water reservoirs.

• Pumping Station: Construction of one drinking water pumping station and its associated facilities.

• Transmission and Distribution: Installation of the required transmission and distribution pipelines and networks.

• Secondary Sewerage Network: Construction of a secondary sewerage network serving the designated areas.

The project integrates drinking water supply and wastewater infrastructure within a unified regional development, combining transmission, storage, pumping, distribution, and secondary sewerage systems to serve the communities between Ehden and Zgharta.
