Project Description

The construction of Roumieh Jail was commissioned by the Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR). The project occupies a site extending over approximately 12,000 m², with a total construction surface area of approximately 7,000 m². The total project cost amounted to USD 7,150,664. Construction commenced in 2010 and was completed in 2017.

The project is organized into two main blocks, each dedicated to a distinct institutional function:

Block A – Court

The Court block comprises three floors, with a total area of approximately 1,500 m². It accommodates the main judicial and supporting functions, including:

• Entrance

• Secretariat

• Court hall

• Kitchen

• W.C. facilities

• Other associated support spaces

Block B – Prison

The Prison block comprises seven floors, with a total area of approximately 5,500 m². The building accommodates the principal detention, security, circulation, and service functions, including:

• Stores

• Prison rooms

• Waiting rooms

• Mechanical rooms

• Security rooms

• W.C. facilities

• Other associated service and support spaces

The two-block organization clearly separates the judicial and detention functions while integrating them within a unified institutional complex.
